West African Bioethics organised a Trainining program on "Informed Consent, Composition and Management of Health Research Ethics Committees" in April 2007

The West African Bioethics Training Program conducted a 2 week training program at the Center for Bioethics, Ibadan on Informed Consent, Composition and Management of Health Research Ethics Committees" for members of Health Research Ethics Committees in Nigeria in April 2007. The WAB sponsored the program and international bioethics experts were among the speakers in the workshop. The program incorporated elements of the new Nigerian National Code for Health Research Ethics and other topics include history of research ethics, principles of informed consent, composition and management of health research ethics committees, relationship between health research ethics committees and the National Health Research Ethics Committee among other topics.
